Studio I like 1: Colorbleed

Colorbleed is an Utrecht based studio, in the centre of the Netherlands.

To quote its own description: "Colorbleed is a fresh animation studio founded by the makers of the critically acclaimed short film Mac 'n' Cheese. With our studio we provide a wide range of visuals for film, TV, mobile devices, projection at events and other digital media."
The team consists of people with variation in skill to cover all fronts while producing an animation, be it a full production or just a creative process.
The team is guided by three directors. Each time they'll discuss who is the best director for the job and he'll be in charge of the creative process.
Colorbleed covers a wide range of productions: concepting, storyboarding, style development, animation, visual effects, tool development, editing, compositing and color grading. Basically the whole production minus sound design.

"Animation is collaboration"
During the process of creating the animation they strive to each time create a collaborative piece of art through bonding with the clients while listening, delivering and discussing with them. They strive to uphold the wishes of the client and their own guiding art direction.

Colorbleed has made a variety of projects in the past. They're well known for their short Mac 'n' Cheese, even more after the 'sequel', Mac 'n' Cheese supermarket, which was screened in Dutch cinema branche 'Pathe' established by the 'Ultrakort' (ultra short) fund, which is a collaboration between SNS Reaal, Pathe and het Nederlands Filmfonds. Colorbleed creates animations for clients, mostly for advertising purposes, but also creates quite some few shorts of their own.

I've seen their works in the cinema and on television before through commercial advertising. When I found out it was their work I was really amazed. I always liked their style and feel of animation. I also think it's a style that may quite fit my way of working and animating. I feel I could really learn a lot from these guys.
